Eleven years ago, Kenna Côté decided to take her hobby of soap making to the next level. Her company, Modern Soapmaking LLC, offers educational resources and consulting to aspiring soap makers, while the retail side of the business manufactures and sells soap at the Mineral Springs Soap shop in Cobleskill. Kenna appreciates the work the Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corporation does to support the local business community, and the mentorship of Donna Maria, owner of the Indie Business Network.
In addition to owning her own business, Kenna enjoys gardening and raising house plants. In the future, she would like to have a warehouse for manufacturing soap and 20-30 employees from the local community.
