Crickett knows community building. She is the Director of Community Engagement and Statewide Pre-Apprentice Program Coordinator for the Workforce Development Institute (WDI). She spends her days helping workers gain the skills and opportunities that lead to quality jobs and careers with family-sustaining wages and benefits. WDI is a NYS funded non-profit organization focused on strengthening New York’s workforce, and Crickett’s Pre-Apprentices Program provides the foundational, technical, strategic, and leadership skills critical to building a healthy and representative workforce.
Community is also central to Crickett’s life outside of work. She is a Basketball & Volleyball referee, Martial Arts student, and serves on multiple committees and organizations such as the Saratoga Sparks AAU Girls Basketball Board and Capital Region Professional Women of Color, as well as being an active member of her church.
Named a 2022 Woman of Distinction by NYS Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh, Crickett finds both joy and fulfillment in her position at WDI: “Every day is a different day, and every day is a great day for me because they are so different. They are so varied and vast. I get to indulge in different activities that aim towards increasing opportunities for New Yorkers exceeding in their working lives.”
KathodeRay salutes Crickett’s expertise, dedication, and commitment to community workforce development.
